🌲🚢 Prairie FarmStand Update 🚢🌲

The FarmStand will be taking a little vacation and will be closed for the next three Sundays.

This trip is a special one for me—I'm finally headed to Alaska, the last state on my list! I'll be cruising the Inside Passage, visiting glaciers, Ketchikan, Skagway, Seward, and Anchorage, then traveling by train to explore the beauty of Denali National Park.

I've heard for years that Alaska is a "must-see" destination, especially for cruise lovers, and I'm excited to experience it for myself.

The FarmStand will reopen on Sunday, June 28th, and I'll be back with fresh treats, eggs, goodies, and hopefully a few Alaska stories and photos to share.

Thank you all for your support of the Prairie FarmStand. See you in a few weeks!

A little sneak peek of what will be coming out of the Prairie FarmStand kitchen tomorrow!

This week's sweet lineup includes:

I'm having so much fun experimenting with these little dessert cups and bite-sized treats. My goal is simple: homemade goodies that are just the right size for a sweet treat without overdoing it.

Little cups. Big flavor. 💛

This Sunday at the Prairie FarmStand we’re trying something new… tiny spoon desserts & snack cups that are perfect to enjoy right away (we’ll have mini spoons available!) or take home for later.

NEW this weekend:

🍋 Oma’s Lemon Bites
Bright, creamy lemon goodness topped with buttery crumble and powdered sugar.

🥕 Farmhouse Carrot Cake Cups
Layers of moist carrot cake, cream cheese frosting & crunchy topping in our little 4 oz dessert cups.

🥜 Prairie Power Bites
Our hearty little oat, peanut butter, maple & chocolate bites are back — perfect for the road, the lake, or “just one more.” 😉

And of course… our thick, chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies will be here too — because some things are staples for a reason. 🍪

🍯 We are currently looking for a new honey supplier, but hope to have local honey back soon!

🍁 And more maple syrup is on the way.

Tomorrow marks our first Sunday open of 2026, and while we’re starting out a little slow, we’ve got a nice mix of returning favorites and a few tasty treats to kick things off. 💚

Hello Prairie Farm friends! 🌱☀️

I’m making my way back from Florida and plan to have the Farmstand open again starting May 17th! I may be showing up a little later than usual this spring…but honestly, I was waiting for Wisconsin to warm up a bit first. 😊

I can’t wait to dust off the KitchenAid mixer, fire up the oven, and start baking chocolate chip cookies, lemon bites, and other goodies again. The garden is calling my name too, and I’m looking forward to getting my hands back in the dirt.

Most of all, I’m excited to see everyone again. If you drive by and see me out working in the garden, please stop and say hi! That’s one of my favorite parts of the Farmstand season. 💚

🍁 Final Prairie FarmStand of the Season 🍁

Tomorrow is the last FarmStand day of the 2025 season — I’ll be packing things up and heading south soon, but not before sharing a few fall favorites from my kitchen!

This week, I put the squash from The Land School to delicious use:

Butternut Squash Bread – a spiced quick bread that tastes like fall in a slice; not too sweet, and perfect toasted with butter.

Red Kuri Squash Muffins with Maple Glaze – tender muffins with a nutty sweetness and warm spice, finished with a maple drizzle.

Pumpkin Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting – soft, lightly spiced bars topped with tangy cream cheese frosting. (Fingers crossed they last through the sunny 60° day tomorrow!)

From Good Root Growers :
🍎 Brandy Old Fashioned Jam and Extreme Ginger Applesauce
🌶 The last of the peppers and onions

From The Land School:
🎃 Butternut and Red Kuri Squash — obviously delicious in breads and muffins 😉

And, of course, all the FarmStand favorites — Chocolate Chip Cookies, eggs, honey, maple syrup, jams, and jellies.

🌻 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the FarmStand this year — whether you stopped by for cookies, produce, or just a friendly chat. I’ve loved getting to know more of my Prairie Farm neighbors, and I’m already looking forward to reopening in May 2026 (just in time for Garage Sale weekend!).

By this time next week, I’ll be road-tripping to Florida for the winter — consider it my test kitchen phase! 😄 I’ll keep you posted on new recipes and ideas for next season.
