Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the FV Lily Jean crew during this tough time and we are extremely grateful for the Coast Guard and other groups that participated in search efforts. This serves as a stark reminder that fishing is inherently dangerous and the people out on the water risk their lives everyday for people around the US and the world to enjoy wild caught seafood.

Did you know that seafood was likely served at the first Thanksgiving in Plymouth, MA?

Records from the time note that Plymouth Bay was full of lobsters, bass & cod, and that mussels, clams, and eels were easily harvested along the shore. The Wampanoag people taught the colonists how to harvest lobsters. Around 52 English Pilgrims and at least 90 members of the Wampanoag tribe shared a 3 day feast in the fall of 1621, which later became known as "The First Thanksgiving." A national Thanksgiving holiday was declared in 1863 by President Abraham Lincoln.
