Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the first Wednesday Port Townsend Farmers Market of the season! The mid-week market kicked off with live music, storytimes, face painting, a chef demo, lawn games, and dogs in costumes — not to mention our amazing vendors serving up fresh produce, pizza, cookies, and much more.

Wednesdays Uptown are about to get way more fun...

The Wednesday Port Townsend Farmers Market opens TODAY! Come by at 3pm for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, community photo, and free dog biscuits for dogs who come in costume.

Here's the schedule of events for opening day:
- 3 PM: Red ribbon cutting — pups welcome!
- 3:30, 4:30, 5:30 PM: Storytime with Amanda Steurer-Zamora (professional actor, director, and realtor) reading The Big Orang Splot — including a giveaway of the book! Brought to you by Bell Tower Brokers
- 4–5 PM: Face Painting with Raven
- 4–5 PM: Spring Stir Fry Chef Demo with Cristian Quiroz
- Whump will be playing music between events

Not to mention our market vendors offering:
- Fresh local produce
- Cookies and baked goods
- Tea
- Flowers
- Beaded jewelry
- Pottery..and more!

A new and extra special addition to the mid-week market this year: our Uptown neighbors are offering special deals on Wednesdays! We encourage you to visit the following businesses when you come to the Wednesday PTFM:
🔪 Uptown Cutlery — "Sharpen while you shop!" discount on knife sharpening when you shop at the Wednesday Market.
🌮 Green Crow Tacos — Market Special tacos on Wednesdays
📖 Winter Texts Bookshop — Discounts on food and gardening books during market hours
🧩 Strange Days Comics and Games— Deals on food and nature themed games. Market shoppers are also encouraged to explore their demonstration games in-store and play games on their outdoor picnic tables during the market

This year at the Wednesday Port Townsend Farmers Market, we're offering frequent shopper cards! Which one will you choose?

We'll also have a monthly Wednesday-only market giveaway, sponsored by our wonderful Uptown neighbor Belltower Brokers. Enter our drawing for a chance to win $100 in market tokens. Come by the market info booth for more information.

Our quieter mid-week market is a great opportunity to shop for farm-fresh produce, grab a quick dinner from one of our food vendors, or add some specialness to your week with handmade art, activities, and live music. We hope you'll become a frequent shopper this year!

The Wednesday Port Townsend Farmers Market opens this week! Join us on June 3 at 3pm for our Season Opening Celebration. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony, community photo, and activities happening for kids, adults, and pups:
🐶 Dogs are welcome at this market! Dogs who come in costume to our ribbon-cutting at 3pm will receive a free dog biscuit from our lovely vendor, Gatheringplace.
📖 Story time with Bell Tower Brokers at 3:30, 4:30, and 5:30
🌻 Face painting for kiddos is from 4–5pm as part of our POP Kids' Club
🍽️ Spring Stir Fry Chef Demo with local chef Christian Quiroz is from 4–5pm

Fresh ingredients, expert guidance, and a shared meal — what could be better?

💙Join Jefferson Healthcare Chef Arran Stark at the Port Townsend Wednesday Farmers Market on June 17 at 3 PM for a hands-on market-to-table cooking class hosted by Jefferson County Farmers Markets.

Participants will shop for fresh seasonal ingredients at the market before heading to the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Community Kitchen to prepare a delicious meal together. Along the way, Chef Arran will share cooking techniques, nutrition tips, and simple strategies for bringing out the best flavors in farm-fresh foods.

We will be kicking off our Chef Demonstration season at the Port Townsend Farmers Market on Saturday, May 30 from 9:30–10:30 am! Amber (our lovely Market Assistant and Tasting Events Lead) will demonstrate how to cook a brain-healthy dish featuring Lion’s Mane Mushrooms. Julie Eckert (of Olympic Area Agency on Aging - O3A) will explain the benefits of Lion’s Mane for the brain.
