If you receive WIC or Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) benefits, remember to use any remaining farmers market benefits by October 31.

WIC Shoppers: Check your WIC Shopper App to see your remaining farmers market benefit balance. Your regular monthly WIC fruit and vegetable benefits are separate from FMNP and can still be used at the market after October.

Senior FMNP Shoppers: To check your remaining balance, call the customer service number on the back of your shopper card.

Need help or a replacement card? Stop by the market info booth in Port Townsend or Chimacum, email [email protected], or call 360-379-9098.

How to Use Your Benefits: Spend your WIC or Senior FMNP benefits directly with participating farms on eligible fresh fruits and vegetables. Look for vendors displaying the WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program sign.

A quick reminder about market tokens: WIC and Senior FMNP benefits are different from the community match (Gimme5) tokens you may have received from JCFM. These tokens are community-funded matching benefits provided once per season to help you bring home even more fresh, local food.

Use Your Benefits Before They Expire! Spending your WIC and Senior FMNP benefits helps you:
🥦 Bring home fresh, nutritious, locally grown food.
👩‍🌾 Support local farms with your food dollars.
💜 Demonstrate strong community participation in these programs, which helps show state and federal funders how important these benefits are to our community.

SNAP Market Match continues through the end of our market season, so SNAP shoppers can keep using their benefits and Market Match after October. We hope to see you at the market through our final Saturday on December 19!

Transform ordinary vegetables into extraordinary creatures at the Chimacum Farmers Market today, Sunday, October 4, from 11–1! This free kids' activity is part of our 'Power of Produce' Kids' Club, where kids receive $2 in market bucks for every activity they complete. JCFM executive director Amanda will be leading this activity — and it's her favorite market craft! You won't want to miss it.

It's the last storytime of the season! Join librarian Judith Bows from the Port Townsend Public Library for the final Saturday storytime. You'll find her reading picture books on the community center grass today, Sat, Oct 3 from 11–11:30 AM during the Port Townsend Farmers Market.

Market merch is selling fast!

Now is the time to get that market sweatshirt or T-shirt you have been eyeing with art by Kira Mardikes of West Wind Botanical. These sweet insect parade and sunflower butterfly designs are selling out this season, and we don't plan to reprint them. Get yours before we run out. We have youth and adult sizes, small through XXL. Rep your community markets while chipping in to support market operations.

Early fall is a special time at the farmers markets. Summer favorites like tomatoes, peppers, and berries are still on offer, while autumnal flavors are arriving to tantalize our tastebuds. Squashes, pears, apples, mushrooms, and root vegetables of all shapes and colors are arriving on market tables, perfect for cooking up cozy meals as the days become rainier and the nights get chillier.

Friendly reminder: If you receive WIC or Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program benefits, remember to spend your card/Shopper App benefits before they expire at the end of October.

WIC Shoppers: Families using the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, it is time to use up your WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program benefits. They expire at the end of October. Not sure is you still have benefits? Check your WIC shopper app and look for your farmers market benefit balance. Remember that your monthly fruit and veggie benefits can still be used at the market after October. These are different from your FMNP benefits.

Senior FMNP Shoppers: Seniors, it is time to use up your Senior Farmers Market Nutrition benefits. They expire at the end of October (10/31). Not sure is you still have benefits? Please call the customer service number on the back on your shopper card for a benefit balance.

How to Spend Your Benefits: Spend your card or shopper app benefits directly with participating farms or fresh fruits and veggies. Look out for the farms displaying a WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program sign. These signs are displayed by approved farmers market vendors.

Your WIC or Senior Farmers Market benefits are not the same as the tokens you receive at the Port Townsend or Chimacum Farmers Market. These tokens are community matching funds given once per season to help your family bring home more farm-fresh food.

Why spend your WIC or Senior Farmers Market benefits:
- Bring home delicious, nutritious food for your family.
- Support local farms with your food dollars.
- When you use your WIC or Senior Farmers Market benefits, it shows the state and federal funders of these programs that our community values and utilizes these funds, helping maintain these benefits for our community.

Our SNAP Market Match program extends through the end of the market season. We hope to see you through the season closing on Saturday, December 19th!
