It was a pleasure to host the Pingree-Buchanan first and second grade class field trip this past Friday.

The herd wasn't too keen on seeing or smelling so many small folks, but the kids did get to see all the mamas protecting their babies by leading them away! We also tried our best to provide a bit of education.

Intro to Bison Meat:
🦬Names for individual cuts of bison are identical to beef.
🦬Bison can appear to be a deeper red due to the fact that bison has lower fat content, thus less marbling than beef, and higher iron content
🦬Because bison is lean, it will cook quickly. Watch internal temperature and cooking time to avoid overcooking.
