We would like to give Louie Matijega a huge thank you on 50 years of fire service as he has been awarded citizen of the year. He has been a great asset to all surrounding communities with his hard work, dedication, love of his fire families and community. If you see Louie, give a big thank you to this true hero. We cordially invite the public to attend the Swearing-in Ceremony for Gregg Nieten, the incoming Chief of Police.
The ceremony will take place in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.
A meet and greet session with light refreshments will follow the ceremony. We welcome and encourage public participation.

The PPD attended the Shop with A Hero Event at Meijer on Wilder Rd in Bay City on December 9, 2025.
First Responders from Bay County Area Police & Public Safety, EMS, Fire, and other agencies joined to provide a special Christmas shopping experience for 34 community children. 🎁
Thank you to the Fraternal Oder of Police Lodge 103 and Meijer for their sponsorship of the event.
