What do I do when I’m not making jam? 🍓🥭

Mostly… I’m thinking about jam. 😅

This week was a big one. I packed up an order for the annual Cookbooks & Convos festival, coordinated by the amazing Thank you for having Azúcar Jams be part of it! 📚🫙💛

And when I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me on Calle Nueve 🇮🇹, Philly’s 9th Street Italian Market, picking out the fruit that ends up in your jars. Ripe, colorful, and full of flavor. That’s where every batch starts.

We were on TV! 📺🍓

Yesterday I joined Rachel Malak and Abby Urban in the PHL17 kitchen on Positively Philly to share Azúcar Jams — and the people behind every flavor. Each jar is inspired by someone I love, from my mom turning leftover fruit from our family's juicery in Guatemala into big batches of jam, to the women who taught us to forage berries when we arrived in Canada.

When jars seal after the hot water bath they make a popping sound. This means they are properly sealed. This is music to our ears at Azúcar Jams. It means that our jars are ready for sale and shelf stable.
