They’d think I was drunk if I asked them what their stubble height goal is.😅
In Utah, we LITERALLY take a ruler and measure grass stubble height during the grazing season.
When I study the moisture, grass, and soil out here, I feel like I’m on a completely different planet compared to the high desert region of Southern Utah!🌱
There’s enough grass and a long enough growing period, PLUS the soil rebuilds so easily that I’d bet most animals out here are completely grass-fed.
In Utah, you have to balance the nutritional availability of our grasses and the caloric needs of your livestock, with the health of the soil and plant stability. It’s vital.
Hogs, horses, and even ruminants can ruin plant communities and land quickly, and it can take decades to build it back.
Here- a matter of days before the soil and plant life rebound.😲
