May 8th, 2017: The Farm is currently CLOSED FOR THE SUMMER. The Shadowood Saturday Market is like a Farmer's Market, but we're NOT happy when people use the "farmer's market" term lightly. Since there's usually only one set of farmers here (those who grow food at Shadowood Farm), but some other wonderful local food vendors who are not farmers, we simply call it a Saturday Market! At Shadowood Farm

we are devoted to growing great, organic food and to food clarity. All of our Market Vendors sign a contract committing to tell the truth about their food. We want our shoppers to be able to make educated decisions about what goes in their bodies. The Market is typically open from early November through May, then we close down for the summer months when it's difficult to grow the types of veggies that most people like. Once our food growing season is in full swing, the majority of the produce we sell is grown right here at the farm and our shoppers can walk around the gardens during their visit to see where the food is grown. Early and late in our growing season, we do broker in Certified Organic Produce from other growers around the country. We try and stay regional with our purchases, depending upon demand. We always note clearly the food that is grown here at Shadowood and if not, the origin of the food we broker in. At times, we also bring in fruits from local friends when they have an abundance that they'd like to sell. Our Market Vendors vary each week, so check back on Thursday evenings to see who'll be joining us on any given Saturday.
