Welp… that wasn’t exactly the weekend we had planned.
After last week’s storms ripped through our area, we ended up without power from Thursday until Saturday evening — which unfortunately meant losing sales from our two busiest days of the week, all of the food prep we had done Thursday to prepare for the weekend, a retail cooler full of milk, and many other products that had to be tossed.
Small business ownership sure keeps things interesting sometimes. We also know we’re not the only local small business dusting ourselves off this week. Sending lots of encouragement to the other shops, restaurants, and businesses working hard to get back up and running too. ❤️
BUT… tomorrow we dust ourselves off.
We’ll be restocking coolers, refilling freezers, prepping fresh food, and getting everything back in shape.
We’ll be back OPEN Tuesday — business as usual.
And truly… thank you. Every coffee, lunch order, gallon of milk, grocery run, and stop into the store means more than you probably realize to a small business like ours. We’re incredibly thankful for this community and for every person who continues to support local and support our little business on the square ❤️
PS — Troy and I were actually at The Market when the storm blew through… and whew, it was a doozy.
We also want to give a huge thank you to our local first responders who were out immediately assessing damage and helping keep everyone safe.
And to the crew at Warren County REMC — thank you. You’ve worked tirelessly since the storm hit to get power restored for our community. It’s a dangerous job, and we know many of you leave your own families to help take care of ours. We truly appreciate you.
