We used- wide mouth pint canning jar, kid friendly cocoa mug, spoon, ice 1100 Watt Microwave, and 8 oz 2% milk.
Use jar to roll and crush chips in bag, then use bottom of jar to smoosh peppermint , if using.
Parents, hold onto that espresso dust for your coffee. Parents, Heat 3/4 cup milk of choice or water in jar for 90 sec. Add a couple pinches chocolate chips and cocoa mix and stir well. Add an ice cube or 2 to a temp safe mug and add hot cocoa. Add topping(s) of choice and stir til desired temp. Remove cube. Enjoy.
Use stove top for milk stirring constantly with a spatula until hot. Add chips to taste and cocoa mixes. Serve with pinches of topping to taste, for a family batch. 1 C milk/water per bag.
I do not like buying a whole bag/box of these things to have in the house. Simple ingredients can spruce up a bag of hot cocoa mix and come in "fancy" flavors from real actual food. If you have time, certainly do make the Hershey's Hot Cocoa- I suggest Swerve Granular or an all natural pure, minimally processed sugar. You can certainly use other sweeteners, but you may need gums for the right viscosity. But, I rarely have enough time to get dinner done and get out to the lights/ pj movie etc. This makes that night easier. I did not include marshmallows due to the sugar.
