Yaβll loved RIBEYES so much last week, I thought weβd do ribeyes for our new series.
π₯©π₯ MEAT CUT MONDAY β RIBEYE EDITION! π₯π₯©
We're kicking off Meat Cut Monday with one of the most popular cuts of beefβ¦ the RIBEYE! π€€
π WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?
The ribeye comes from the rib section of the cow, located between the chuck (shoulder) and the loin. This area doesn't get a ton of exercise, which helps make the meat incredibly tender!
π₯© WHAT MAKES IT SO GOOD?
MARBLING! Those little white streaks of fat running through the meat melt as it cooks, giving ribeye its signature rich, juicy, beefy flavor!
π₯ HOW DO YOU COOK IT?
Keep it simple!
βοΈ Season generously with salt and pepper.
βοΈ Get your grill or cast-iron skillet nice and hot.
βοΈ Sear both sides until beautifully browned.
βοΈ Use a meat thermometer to check doneness.
βοΈ Let it rest for 5β10 minutes before slicing!
For food safety, USDA recommends cooking beef steaks to 145Β°F with a 3-minute rest.
π€ WHY SHOULD YOU TRY IT?
If you love a steak that's tender, juicy, and PACKED with flavor, ribeye is hard to beat! All that beautiful marbling makes it a favorite for grilling and pan-searing.
