Good news!!! TakeRoot has received a grant through Nebraska’s Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) through the Department of Health and Human Services, to purchase a refrigerated van!
We still need to add refrigeration to our newly purchased van and a TakeRoot logo, but once that is completed, we are excited to put it to work🥳
This new van will help us pick up fresh produce, eggs, dairy and proteins from rural Nebraska farms and deliver it directly to rural schools. It’s a step toward strengthening connections between local farmers and schools, to benefit the health of our community.

Cheers to building a stronger local food system and investing in the health and future of Nebraska😎

Tomato lovers, this is your week😍
We’ve are receiving farm-fresh tomatoes, including a beautiful selection of colorful cherry and heirloom tomatoes from Long Walk Farm and Iowana Farm, alongside plenty of Roma tomatoes from Wolff Farms ! 🌈🍅
Heirloom tomatoes are known for their incredible flavor, unique shapes, and vibrant colors-from deep purples and reds to sunny yellows and even some stripes🤪. Each one brings its own delicious taste, making them perfect for fresh salads, sandwiches, and bruschetta.
Looking for tomatoes to cook with, make salsa, or preserve? Our Roma tomatoes are a customer favorite for sauces, canning, and fresh recipes thanks to their meaty texture and rich flavor.
Whether you’re canning, making fresh salsa, or stocking up for summer meals, now is the perfect time to grab your favorites!
Stop by and pick out the freshest tomatoes around-we can’t wait to see you! 🍅❤️
