First rhubarb harvest of the year is underway. Unfortunately this first picking is headed straight to the co-packer for our delicious strawberry-rhubarb jelly. I anticipate a second picking in 2-3 weeks though so stay tuned!
Everyone always asks about red rhubarb and green rhubarb-believe it or not, the majority of our rhubarb is the crimson red, but something about our Oklahoma soil seems to make it get more green. There are also some green varieties, and we have a few plants of it as well. However, in a blind taste test, our testers could not tell a difference in taste. So whether red or green, our rhubarb is the real deal and has that tart rhubarb taste.
