Panizzera Meat Co. We have been Sonoma County's source for gourmet meats and artisan sausage since 1914. We have been processing meat in Occidental since 1914.

With a small slaughter operation, butcher services and further processing, all under USDA inpection, we maintain the highest standards in quality from start to finish. We offer custom processing for local ranchers, as well as sell our locally made products to retailers around the county. Our products are made using only premium cuts of meat, quality ingredients and time tested recipes. We are all natural, add no gluten, sugar or preservatives of any kind to our artisan meats. Well this is pretty damn cool.
Food & W**e came out to Sonoma County and included Panizzera Meat Co. in a story about some of Northern California’s historic meat markets and sausage makers.
Chris Shepherd wrote that Panizzera “blew me away” and called our spicy Italian sausage “some of the best spicy Italian sausage I’ve ever tasted.”
For a little butcher shop in Occidental that’s been doing this since 1914, that means a lot.
We spend a ton of time thinking about the details that go into making good sausage, so having someone with Chris’s background notice it is pretty special.
Huge thanks to Food & W**e, Chris Shepherd, our crew, and everyone who keeps supporting this little shop.
