Exciting news from our CFO (Chief Fish Officer)! Zack got word this morning that he is officially competing at the Wellfleet OysterFest Oyster Shucking Competition on Cape Cod next weekend!!!!

Watch to the end of the video for a *second* special announcement 🤫 7️⃣ 🐟

More about OysterFest:

Zack will be squaring off against some of the best professional shuckers in the Northeast, and competing for a chance to be named fastest shucker in the east, qualify to compete at the National US Oyster Shucking Competition Contest, and bring home a hefty cash prize!

The task: shuck 24 oysters as fast as you can. Anyone who has seen Zack shuck knows that he’s got a real chance at coming home a champion.

This is an extremely exciting opportunity, and it will mean that we’re relying on our team to cover for us while we’re away. Here are the details about what next weekend Oct. 17 and 18 will look like …

SAT 10/17: To the Gills and New Curds will both be at Washington CT Farmers Market, however seafood will only be available for pickup at market by PRE-ORDER ONLY. Harper will be in the Depot with your orders to make sure you get your fish! Use next week’s pre-order form to place your order, or call the shop on Thursday at (959) 209-4031.

New Curds will not be at Litchfield Farmers’ Market on 10/17 (apologies! Find us in Washington Depot or at the shop.)

SUN 10/18: RAW BAR RESCHEDULED. Our monthly raw bar at Walker Road Vineyards will be pushed to the following Sunday, 10/25.

THANK YOU for your flexibility and understanding! Reach out with questions and in the meantime … GO TEAM ZACK!

New! 🎣 Salmon Jerky, made in house and ready for snackin’

09/11/2026

New fish this weekend!! This past Tuesday I added to my fish tattoo sleeve with a few local species. As luck would have it I stumbled upon a fish I’d never seen before at market and had to get it to add it to my list.
BURBOT or Lake Ling. Freshwater fish from Canada. Deliciously moist and meaty. Sometimes the ugliest fishes can be the tastiest.

The second anniversary is CRAB right?!? Tell me I’m not crazy! Two years married to my best friend (not to mention business partner, voice of reason, adventurer, and best cat mom). We both had work things to do and mine happened to take me near G Mart in Milford.
I couldn’t resist buying a live Dungeness crab plus all sorts of things that Kate would get, i.e. anything we can’t read lol. This was a meal maximizing as much seafood and interesting things as we could get into it, just like our lives.
Dungeness crab, green crab stock, abalone, scup mince fishballs, quail eggs, and more!

Native Dogfish, from the sound to our stomachs! Fish caught by Fox Fisheries LLC, butchered by Zack, and served encrusted with fresh coconut and jerk spices alongside crispy yucca and vinegary cooked greens.
