THIS FEELS LIKE A LITTLE VACATION IN THE BACKYARD. 🌿

The tall bamboo, rattan furniture and all that greenery make this corner feel so private and peaceful. I love how it looks like a tiny tropical hideaway without needing a huge space.

11,000 GIANT WĒTĀPUNGA HAVE BEEN RELEASED BACK INTO THE WILD. 😳

These enormous insects are found only in New Zealand, and females can weigh more than an average house sparrow.

But their size isn’t the most interesting part. Wētāpunga play an important role in the forest. Their nutrient rich droppings help fertilize the soil, help seeds germinate and carry seeds to new places. Before land mammals arrived in New Zealand, giant wētā even filled some of the ecological role that small rodents fill elsewhere.

After years of breeding and conservation work, more than 11,000 have now been released into protected areas, helping return an important piece of New Zealand’s forests. 🌿

OAK TREES CAN SUPPORT MORE THAN 2,300 SPECIES. 🌳😳

In Britain, native oak trees are little ecosystems all by themselves. Birds, mammals, insects, fungi and mosses use them for food, shelter and places to breed.

Even more surprising, 326 species depend on oak for their survival, and 229 are rarely found on other trees. And the older an oak gets, the more valuable it becomes, with hollows, dead wood and cracks creating even more places for wildlife to live.

One tree species. Thousands of neighbors. 🌿🐛🐦🍄

That giant mirror makes this little garden path look like it keeps going forever. Such a clever trick for a small space, and that old ornate frame makes it look like a secret garden doorway instead of a mirror.

THIS PUMPKIN WEIGHS MORE THAN A WHITE RHINO. 😳🎃

A grower in Hampshire, England just broke the world record with a pumpkin weighing 2,856 pounds.

Ian Paton grew the giant pumpkin, nicknamed Bagheera, in only about 120 days. At its fastest, it was gaining as much as 70 pounds a day.

During the hottest weather, the plant was drinking up to 130 gallons of water every day. 😂

Tell me this isn’t already a Christmas tree. 😂🎄

Saw this huge tree at Idlewild Park in Reno, Nevada, and all I could imagine was how beautiful it would look covered in Christmas lights. It already has the perfect shape.❤️

Look at those little legs just hanging there. 😂

Bumblebees really do nap on flowers when they need a break, sometimes clinging to the petals while they rest. This one looks like it completely clocked out in the middle of work. 🌼😴
