The Sardine. A traditional part of Portugese culture. Usually found preserved in a cute tin ( this process dates back to 1865) but are also enjoyed salted and grilled in early autumn and deliciously fatty!

The Japanese then perfected the technique and is now widely known as Tempura. 🤔Travel can be nourishing for the spirit and the mind.

C h a m u c a s Look very similar to a samosa and are a common part of Portugese cuisine. The chamucas originated in Goa, which was a portugese territory from 1505 to 1961. The Portugese traders and adventurers indirectly influenced the eating habits of Asian countries trading with Portugese colonies.

What a crew! I feel honored to have filled the bellies of these amazing people every morning and to have been immersed in the food culture of Portugal and wander the streets filled with wild grapes and fruit trees . Truly an adventure!
