Hi All!

Wet enough for ya? Much as I miss the morning sunshine, it was kinda nice to not have to water everything. Not so nice feeding the birds in the rain though. But worth it to see the birds, so there's that.

Got one order in so far today. Still waiting on about 5 more. Keeping our fingers crossed they get here soon. The second crop of stone fruit is always more impressive than the first. We just got some amazing apricots and cherries in this morning. Even if you didn't order a basket this week, we have enough for you to get in on the deliciousness! Stop in and check them out!

Hello!

What's new in your world? Things are pretty steady around these parts. Just working on slowly reorganizing the store and taking care of our customers. Mostly taking care of our customers. It's kinda why we exist!

And, to that end, let me refresh your memory about our produce baskets. We do them every week, all year long. Order by 6pm Tuesday, and we will have a basket ready for pick up on Thursday. Half veggie, and half fruit. Plus greens. $25 for a small (1-2 people),or $45 for a large. This week we are showing off the power of tiny with things like berries, cherries, apricots, grapes, brussels, fingerling potatoes, and patty pan squash!

Good Morning!

How was your weekend? Mine was totally uneventful. Not a bad thing. It was pretty productive, and that is definitely a good thing. Made some progress on the back room in Pine. OK, so that was mostly Sean, but i helped a little. And consulted a lot. Basically, it is coming along nicely. Worked on the ponds at home too. Kinda the same thing. I mostly consulted. Found out I have not one, but large leopard frogs! One in each pond. They are Precious and Super Mama. Cute little things.

If you need more proof that good things come in small packages, check out this week's produce basket. We have fingerling potatoes, sunburst patty pan squash, Brussels, cherries, grapes, apricots, and berries! Large baskets are only$45, and small baskets are just $25. Call or email us before 6pm Tuesday, and we will have a basket for you on Thursday!

Hello!

I am so glad we finally got some rain!! Two days in a row now I have not had to go out and water first thing in the morning. Especially the 38 trees and shrubs we just planted! Looks like we have another shot at rain tomorrow too, but it looks like it might settle down after that.

Perfect time to throw some kebobs on the grill! This week's produce basket can help with that. We are offering mushrooms, pepper, onion, grape tomato, zucchini, and pineapple for your kabobs and strawberries and rhubarb for an amazing dessert afterwards! We’re partnering with Brittan from That Brainy B LLC for a fun and informative Farm Forage & Flower Crown event! Brittan and I did a walk around the farm last week and she was instantly pointing out and identifying wild things growing and what they can be used for. If you love being outdoors and admiring green growing things this event is for you! Then I’ll lead the group in building some beautiful floral crowns for you to take home in celebration of the summer solstice! June 20 from 12 pm-2 pm. The cost is $45. Good Morning!

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! We managed to make a bit more headway on the reconfiguring of the Pine City layout. Still a work in progress though. Also found time to come up with a tasty idea for this week's produce baskets. I know it's not exactly grilling weather right now, but give it a day. Things change. And what is a better summer time treat than kabobs on the grill with strawberry rhubarb pie for dessert? This week we are throwing in onion, pepper, mushrooms, zucchini, grape tomatoes, and pineapple for your grilling pleasure, along with strawberries and rhubarb for a killer dessert! Hello!

Looks like it is going to be another beautiful day! I love summertime! Everything is green. Flowers are blooming. Birds are singing. And I am not freezing. plus I tend to eat better. My body just craves more fruit and veggie and less carb when it is warm and I am outside more.

Which brings to mind this week's produce basket. We are featuring pears, apples, blueberries. mammoth sweet potatoes, and some beautiful cauliflower and local asparagus (i eat it raw). To get in on this bonanza, simply call or email before 6pm today and we will have your basket ready to pick up by Thursday morning!

Good Morning!

How was your weekend? Mine was fabulous!! Went down to Rochester Friday for a Wookiefoot concert at the historic Chateau theater. Cool venue. And as always, a top notch show! Came back and worked half a day Saturday and then my cousin came up from Missouri. Had breakfast with her and her brother Sunday morning and then got the rest of my plants in the ground!

And throughout it all I managed to come up with an idea for a produce basket and get the order in. This week we have no theme, just good food- apples, pears, blueberries, sweet potatoes, cauliflower, and some local asparagus! Had some for dinner last night. It is fantastic! Let us know before 6pm Tuesday and we will have your basket ready Thursday morning!

Good Morning!

It's finally here! Not summer (well, actually that too!) I am talking about local asparagus. Grown on Sweet Acre (formerly Melon Vine) Farm. We have had a lot of inquiries as to when it would be in, so I just wanted to let you all know it is here. And it looks amazing. Haven't tried it yet, but I plan to remedy that situation tonight!

And on the subject of fresh produce, if anyone has suggestions for the produce basket, please share. We are open to suggestions! My problem is that I tend to lean heavily into salads and fruit, especially in the summer. What are your go-to veggies for summertime?

Happy Tuesday!

That feels like a Monday. But then, unless I have special plans, all my days feel pretty much the same. Not complaining though. I am pretty happy with the way my life is going.

Finally got the produce baskets figured out for this week. We have stone fruit in the form of peaches, nectarines, and plums, accompanied by broccoli, green beans, mushrooms, and red pepper. $25 for a small basket, and just $45 for a large. Due to the short week, we have extended the order deadline to 12 noon on Wednesday.
