Well, y’all, market opens tomorrow. I’m going to be honest, the last two days have been long, and very up and down. I’ve got good and bad news..I’ll start with the bad, so that I can end on a good note.
Unfortunately, on Sunday, the one day of the week no one is here, our biggest cooler went down, and when I came in Monday morning, everything inside was out of safe temperature ranges. I won’t dwell on the losses, but suffice it to say, they are plentiful. What does that mean for this week? Thankfully, I have a great repairman who comes reliably when I call him, and he was able to get the cooler back up and running for us. We had all fresh veggies and eggs coming in anyway, so those are going to be in stock like normal. We also had some cheese and sausages held in separate cold spaces, so I put what I could in there for this week. Unfortunately, all the rest of our cheeses are going to have to be restocked over the next few weeks. I’ve got those orders in, and some will come quickly, but others may take a little longer. We’ll have the selection back soon though. Thank you for your patience on that.
Now, the good news is….we’re on track to still have a great market this week. The farms have dropped off some beautiful harvests already, and more are scheduled to arrive as the week goes on. One Farm sent us a LOT of their organic pastured chicken. We’ve got whole birds, boneless breasts, tenderloins, wings, boneless thighs, and split chicken halves. Red Ridge creamery delivered fresh milk and cream, and while we did lose all the goat cheeses and skyr, the goat milk was in the other cooler, so it is in stock. Prairie Thyme Farm should deliver fresh cheese this weekend, so that will be replaced soon.
We’re starting to get the new crop local pecans and peanuts in, and we managed to get some of our seasonal candies put out. Our holiday/winter inventory is coming in quickly, and we’re putting new items and restocks out every day right now.
The holidays will be upon us before we know it, and we’re trying to be ready early so we can get a head start on making our gift baskets and you can have some time to plan ahead.
Ok, I’ve made this post long enough. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone this week! ❤️
