fish fish, A NEW PLAY BY PAT PFEIFFER. Fact-based Script Being Developed and Directed by Alfred Preisser at New York Workshop. Born and raised in Vietnam, Mr. Ms.

Rehearsals are in full swing for the imminent opening of "fish," a riveting drama about the shrimp wars along the Gulf of Mexico following the fall of Saigon. The docudrama is a fast-paced and hard-hitting exploration of the economic and racial tensions that exploded along the Gulf of Mexico among working class fishing communities following the influx of Vietnamese refugees in the late 1970’s and

early 80’s. Based on "A Question of Identity," her earlier prize-winning play about a civil rights leader, PAT PFEIFFER was awarded a prestigious Writer’s Guild Fellowship to do on-site research for "fish" in Kemah, Texas. "fish" is rooted in actual events and conditions on the Gulf of Mexico: the blockade of commercial fishing lanes, the burning of refugee boats, and organized harassment by the Ku Klux Klan.
