Have you noticed how much our mood depends on what we see in the mirror? My hair was always my "thing"—my pride and joy. But after 40, something shifted. It became dull, brittle, and—worst of all—it was thinning out at an alarming rate.
I felt like I was losing a part of my femininity. I stopped taking photos and gave up on styling it altogether. I’d just shove it into a tight "mum bun" and get on with things, trying to avoid any shop window reflections.
My "Before" photo was taken on one of those days. I looked at it and realised I wasn't ready to just "settle" for this. I didn't want to just accept it as part of getting older.
The road to recovery was a long one. There were plenty of mistakes and a fair bit of money wasted on things that didn't work. But eventually, I found the information that changed everything. It turns out our hair just needs a different "code" for care at this stage of our lives. I found a piece that explained step-by-step how to regain thickness by nourishing the roots properly.
Look at the second photo. That’s me today. I absolutely love having my hair down again. I’ve got that spark and confidence back that I thought had gone for good. It turns out that having thick hair at 44 isn’t just down to "good genes"—it’s down to having the right knowledge.
Ladies, I want you to know there is a way out of the "thinning hair" blues. I’m leaving a link to the article that saved my hair in the comments.
