I smiled. Because the answer is heavy.
I am one person. No funding. No team. No council support. No board showing up. Just me - since 2022.
Only 2% of women receive funding for their work. I’m in the 98%. And I’m tired.

Big love to the small businesses, women farmers, and local food entrepreneurs keeping our communities growing🌷

As a women-powered farmers’ market, we are proud to recognize our dynamic vendors for their ingenuity and tenacity. We will continue to stand with the vendors, growers, and makers bringing fresh food and culture to Harlem and the Bronx. From June 6-7, we hoped you guys shopped local, supported women-powered businesses, and celebrated small businesses in celebration of Small Businesses Week.

be with you, as we dedicate this day to the true Jedi of our world: our firefighters.

Through the tireless work they put in to ensure our safety and protect our communities from fire, we honor them as the heroes they are. Not all who face fire wield a lightsaber; some wear heavy fire-retardant gear and run straight into the flames instead.

We are deeply grateful for their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to keeping us safe.

We are deeply grateful to these amazing growers who joined us, shared their knowledge, and reminded us why this work matters:

Robert Peck of H**p Milk & Honey and Liberated Land Cooperative, a Black and Brown farmer-led group, led our hands-on mycology workshop and brought the grow tent, the grain spawn, and the magic.

Melissa Leuthner, owner of Apian Industry, brought the sweetness—literally—and showed how small-scale urban farming and beekeeping can build thriving businesses.

Nadia Muyeeb-Adewale and Omowale Adewale, co-owners of Liberation Farm, shared land stewardship and food sovereignty through their presence and voices.
