On October 10, Uptown & Boogie Healthy Project, Inc. (UBHP) joined Harlem Farms at Marcus Garvey Park to celebrate New York agriculture, access to fresh food, and community partnerships!
Special thanks to Adijat Adebola, David H., and Chosen Generations. for helping at our table, sharing information about UBHP, and answering community questions about growing food and cooking. 💚

We were glad to meet and connect with public officials such as Senator Cordell Cleare , Senator Michelle Hinchey, George Borrello, Senator Lea Webb, Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal, Dr. Yusef Salaam, and Cathleen McCadden from New York State Homes and Community Renewal.

Thank you to the organizers, all the groups who took part, our supporters, and everyone helping to build healthier, more sustainable communities!

Last weekend, we celebrated National Read a Book Day (Sept 6) as part of our Kids Club program at both our farmers' markets, and we opened the book swap to all ages! 📚

Brooklyn Book Bodega donated the first batch of books to get things started, but adults kept adding their own to the table too.

Honestly, I thought we’d end up flooded with books. Instead, as soon as a book hit the table, someone else was already picking it up within minutes.

The best part was hearing people reminisce about their childhood favorites, pick up a book to reread, or finally continue a series they never finished.

The Book Swap runs all September at our markets, so come through! If you or someone you know wants to bring literary programming to support our Kids Club, we'd love to partner with you. 🌱
