To provide our guests with a meticulously selected and unexpectedly diverse assortment of perfectly ripe cheeses, charcuterie, and gourmet grocery items. Our menu has been carefully built with contemporary and European style sandwiches, salads and cheese-centric items to please all types of food lovers. Some time ago we figured out that the best way to get the farmhouse cheeses we go crazy for was to find the individuals as enthusiastic about making them as we are about selling them. We’ve built an international network of cheese makers and affineurs who hook us up with the artisan and farmhouse cheeses not found in other shops. What to Expect
Operating on the premise that cheese should be fun, we try to make each visit to our shop unique and unforgettable. It is a playground for the cheese rookie, the rind-sniffing expert, and the curd curious. St James cheesemongers and guests are encouraged to try every cheese, every day, to ensure that each cheese is being offered at its peak.

OCTOBER 18, 2026 EVENTS:
2:30pm
A screening of the documentary “The Big Cheese” at the Prytania Theater. The film follows a team of American cheesemongers as they travel to France to compete in the Mondial du Fromage competition (the Olympics of cheese), as well as what it takes to be named the best cheesemonger in America at the Cheesemonger Invitational held every year in New York. A Q&A session will follow the screening with St. James Cheese Company owners and staff (who have attended and competed in the competitions) and some international cheese experts.

-Live music from the Been Around Band
- An enormous cake made from giant wheels of cheese will be broken down in front of the crowd
- Cheese Tasting of some of our favorite cheeses
- Guess the Cheese Weight competition with prizes
- Raffle for Cheese gift bags

Put it on burgers! Stuff it in a hot dog and put a sparkler on it! Any way you slice it, America has some amazing cheesemakers and we want to share them with you.
