Oh my goodness… it has been way too long since we’ve shared an update! We have been working nonstop on the new building and doing most of the work ourselves, so things have been BUSY around here.

We’ve finished putting up boards in the new sales room and office, and we’ve been painting too! (Pictures coming soon… after we finish cleaning up a little first 😊)

We’ve also started organizing all of our treasures from the school auctions, and yesterday was a huge milestone…the outside concrete was poured! We now have a ramp and front entrance pad, plus a new pad out back by the cider press room window for future tours.

Now comes the big cleanup phase because we’re getting ready to start moving things in… and prepare for our first family event in the new building — JACE’S GRADUATION PARTY! Yes, the youngest Murphy kid has officially graduated high school!

This summer’s big project will be building shelving for all of our beautiful apples, and we cannot wait to keep bringing this dream to life. Thank you all for following along and supporting us through this journey!

We so enjoyed our time with the Retired teachers. After doing amazing things in the classroom for thousands of kiddos they are still doing some amazing things for our communities and teachers!!! What an honor to share where we have been and where we are headed! Thank you for helping us get our start!!!!

Proud bosses here!!! Proud that these are our kids! These are kids that pick and wash your apples and even sort, bag and sell them! They performed roles from the lead role to supporting roles in Mary Poppins at the new KMHS performing arts center. Our kids work hard throughout the year in school, sports, music, theater and 4-H! Very proud of all of them!!

Now the fun stuff begins!!! What a beautiful day to take a field trip. We headed to Amish Country to Gregory Log & Lumber for the finishing touches on the market!!! We have had ideas of how to finish the market, but now we get to put them into action. We have some old siding from the barn that was at the “Shady Knoll Farm” that fell down a while ago. We knew it wasnt enough for the entire inside. So we are mixing old with the new, but… even the new will bring in a hint of the old. HA HA!!! Did you get that? Cant wait to share what we end up with.

We have some sad news to share. Yesterday we had to say goodbye Miss Macy Lou. I normally wouldn't post this on our business page but so many of you that have been with us from the start know Macy. Some of you would ask about her when you visit. Once we started the slushy's I had to keep her at home because she would be in the market with me. There was no keeping her out. She would hunt and kill the yellow jackets (see trash can picture), greet everyone and was my protector. She suffered from periodic seizures, lost her hearing and was hard for her to just move. So please know she is no longer in any pain and will be greeting everyone at the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. God speed Macy.
