Madonna took a trip to Quincy, IL this weekend and brought home a Grand Champion Banner. Proving she can be pretty and crank out that delicious milk at the same time. Work Hard Play Hard!!

Many things at the farm make it full circle. We harvested our spring crop of Rye Grass/Vetch this spring. Manure was hauled for fertilizer then we are able to plant our 2nd crop for the year such as Corn Silage, Soybeans or Sorgham Sudan that will also be fed. This of course makes more manure for the complete circle. Nothing goes to waste on the farm!

Some of our heifers enjoying this beautiful day! This group will start calving this fall with their first calves. After calving they will join our milking herd to help fill our growing demand for their delicious milk.

Baling up a couple hundred bales of Rye Grass/Hairy Vetch for the girls. Grass and other forages are the majority of the diet for our cows. Every day they are fed a balanced diet for optimum health and milk production!!

Madona was happy to get a visit from the Milkmaid this afternoon! She has been worried about her since surgery and is very much so looking forward to her being back in the milking parlor as soon as she is able (she has a much more gentle touch than the Milkman 😉)

This is really where Milkmaid all started. Our daughter fell in love with the Jersey breed when she was little. How was i supposed to look at that little girl and tell her no? We have milked Holsteins my entire life. Today the majority of the cows we bottle milk from are Jerseys.
