Founding Father and second president John Adams was famously fond of cider, often referring to "cyder" in his personal letters and writings. Adams reportedly enjoyed a tankard of hard cider with breakfast and associated the drink with health, and longevity.

Meanwhile, Founding Father, third president, and passionate horticulturist Thomas Jefferson had a deep appreciation for apples, orchards, and cider. Historical records indicate that he cultivated several notable apple varieties at Monticello, including Hewes Crab, a celebrated colonial cider apple prized for producing exceptional hard cider.

Want a taste of history? Our Crabapple blend features Hewes Virginia Crab alongside other crabapple varieties, offering a modern sip inspired by America's rich orchard traditions.
