We are by appointment only so please arrange a pickup time with us and we would be happy to give you a bountiful array of freshly picked produce that will last you for weeks to come! You may ask how do we get our f

ood to be bug free and so delicious? That is where the llamas come in! We use fresh manure from our little llama and alpaca family (currently PePe, Pumpkin, Angelica and Abigail) as fertilizer for our crops and keep it thriving by enclosing it in an electric fence. What we plant here depends on a variety of things such as soil compatibility, bugs and temperament but even with careful planning there is no guarantee that all crops will make it successfully to your basket each week. Availability of certain items may change on a weekly basis (it makes us sad too) but nature has its ways!

Shiso aka perilla is an asian herb often used in Korean cooking and a perennial derived from the mint family. The green variety has a spicy flavor that is quite unique and delicious. It is often used in Chinese medicine as they are anti inflammatory and contain calcium, vitamin C and iron. You can add it to a vegan miso soup like does, or eat it the traditional way with rice and bulgogi like we did last night 😋Anyway, we are growing this cool plant and can throw some in your basket if you want in! 💚

This week’s basket is 😋! We got collards, curly and lacinato kale, green or red leaf lettuce, napa cabbage, beets, snowpeas, garlic scapes (last week for these!) and a gorgeous herb bouquet! Do you know how GOOD cabbage is for you? It’s an antioxidant food packed with vitamin C, K, B6 and fiber, and aids in digestion (it has been known to cure ulcers!) It’s a primo anti-cancer food, which personally is enough reason for me, and dare we say, delicious? 🥬 💚 What are some of your favorite ways to enjoy cabbage?
