📣 Giveaway! 🐙

This week we will have some fun while we count down the days to the LAST Monticello Farmers’ Market, this Thursday Oct 9! 3️⃣ DAYS left!

🗳️Enter to win— Like AND comment on this post for a chance to win this handmade, purple “Daddy Kraken” from Thoughtful Fiber Arts!

Thoughtful Fiber Arts was a new vendor to the Market this year! The primary mission of Thoughtful Fiber Arts is to reduce the difficulty for people to participate in making sustainable choices. They do this in several ways.

♻️ First, by offering products to the community that are both giftable and usable, while also being carefully selected to reduce their environmental impact. Many of the materials used in their crafts have been rescued from the second hand marketplace or directly from members of the community. Some materials are sourced from factory discards or end scraps that would otherwise be discarded.

⭕️ Second, their business operates via a closed loop model. This means that items sold to the community can be returned to us at their end of life to be remade into new items, in exchange for a discount coupon to be used on your purchase. This includes the packaging itself, as well as a list of items people might have on hand that did not come from our shop!

🧶 Melisa is a lifelong collector of hobbies, and she uses all of them to create items from the materials at hand. At her booth, you will likely see a variety of items consisting of yarn, fabric or paper. Each one of a kind and unfortunately sometimes not reproducible due to the nature of how their materials are sourced.

You can also browse their offerings online and purchase online and pickup at the Market— www.thoughtfulfiberarts.com

The Piatt County Soil & Water Conservation District will join us at the Monticello Farmers’ Market again this week!

💧The Piatt County Soil and Water Conservation District’s mission is to provide education, leadership, and assistance to the community to protect and promote the wise use of our soil, water, air, plant, and animal resources.

🤝 As a county government organization, they aim to connect Piatt County residents and landowners directly with the resources and assistance needed to be stewards of our land through conservation efforts.

♻️ Services offered to the community that are supported by PCSWCD include technical and cost-share assistance to landowners to implement conservation practices, several recycling events, academic scholarships, native tree and perennial plant sales, fish sales, equipment rental, educational events, and Arbor Day tree donations.

🌳They are currently taking orders for the John Beckhart Memorial Tree Sale. Pre-orders are required and can be done with the form or online before 9/30. Tree pick-up will be 10/10 between 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Stop by their Farmer’s Market booth or check out their website to learn more!
