Have winter coats or blankets you no longer need?

Our friends at The Longfellow Community Council are organizing a winter coat and blanket drive to help keep our neighbors warm as the colder months approach!

Donations will be distributed at our Care Fair on October 31 at Midtown Farmers Market, where community members can access free clothing, resources, and services.

We've heard you loud and clear: More bike parking is needed at the market!

After many months of requesting more bike racks from the Parks to no avail, we reached out to our friends from Dero and the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota who have since installed a new bike rack at the plaza!

You'll find it underneath the light rail near the norh end of the plaza against the wall.

MFM is grateful for our generous and supportive partners who invest in our collective community space.

Here's to hoping there's even more bike racks in the future!

Through catchy songs, puppetry, and interactive storytelling, award-winning performers Chris Griffith, a Cherokee Nation tribal member, and Shari Aronson invite audiences to explore the Cherokee language while helping Grandmother Turtle get back on her feet!

Along the way, you'll learn how to count to three, say hello, and say thank you in Cherokee!

With the Cherokee language at risk, Z Puppets uses creativity and play to help keep the language alive and introduce audiences of all ages to its beauty.

Please note that the dance workshop with Deja Joelle has been cancelled. Thank you for your understanding. Earlier we sent out our newsletter publicizing yoga from 11:30-12:30, but that is incorrect and was our mistakeβ€” yoga will be from 10am-11am!

Enjoy a peaceful, all abilities and all ages yoga practice with Joi Latson from 10-11a. Joi is a Black, q***r yoga instructor, birth worker, and herbalist dedicated to holistic movement and wellness. She focuses on accessibility for marginalized communities. Please bring your own mat!

Earlier we sent out our newsletter publicizing a performance of traditional Irish music with Julia Nerbonne and their friends from 10-11a, but we made a mistake. Their band, Urban Forage Friends, will actually be performing from 11:30a-12:30p!

Their ten-piece ensemble includes fiddle, mandolin, guitar and melodica. They play upbeat and soulful instrumental music.
