A fine specimen from the Long Tall Sally plant. This particular plant had a tough go this season. It’s leaves are long a weepy and furl on themselves.

It did not handle the blight as well as some of its hardier cousins.

Tasty delicious and beautiful, but a bit weak for New England growing.

Most people visit their friends and bring and appetizer, desert, or a bottle of wine.

I bring bad decisions and sting-ring.

To those who were there and ate raw peppers. I’m sorry.

Tiger jalapeño
Buena mulata
White devils tongue
Ají pineapple
Sugar Rush Cream

The pepper quarantine bunch.

You guys may remember the photos I shared earlier this season of these plants after they were hit with spider mites.

They were moved outside and treated with green eagle insect annihilator. Swear by this stuff.

These plants had been pruned to stumps and made a full recovery in time for the fall pepper crops.

Super excited.

The cantaloupe experiment is well underway. I just really hope the season holds out long enough for these guys to ripen!...

I’d be stoked to find out I can grow cantaloupe in pots on my deck on a swing trellis 🤣

We got us a few really happy productive biqunoh pepper plants here at the finca. I gotta say. Less than impress with the flavor. I totally get why these are most commonly found marinated in oil. It’s meh.

Behold!!! The Scotch Reaper or the Carolina Bonnet. I really haven’t settled on a name yet. But the f2 of this cross is looking to give me orange reaper pods on a scotch bonnet sized plant. I’m psyched.

And a photo of the big pepper plants outside. Just cause why not.

There has been so much of this this season. I can’t even keep track.

I must have dropped $100 on organic disease management alone so far this year.

It’s the not so pretty side of the gardening experience during a really crazy weather pattern season.

It’s all part of the process though. At least that’s what I tell myself 😂😂

A little appetizer dinner p**n.

Had a large long tall sally that got turned into finger food with the cheese and crackers.

The greens ended up in the churrasco burritos with fresh hydro salad.

I gotta say. Growing your own food makes for some sexy dinners.

The tomato volunteers!

These guys didn’t give a s**t where they came up. Literately as they all sprung up around the base of the coop. Which has all kinds of dirt and yard matter that had lots of seeds clearly.

We’ll just let all these grow and see what we come up with later on.

A little outside the greenhouse pepper plant tour. These are the plants that have done well despite the weather.

I have a 2nd round growing in the greenhouse. And some stragglers on the deck. But these! Primo hot sauce peppers.

Never had a dog who loved to eat tomatoes so damn much. Only ripe ones thankfully. That also means the garden stays gated 🤣

The ladies going out for a stroll.

They are my bird feeder vacuum cleaners. Whatever the birds toss on the ground the ladies love to chow down on.

It’s amazing as I’m posting this and like all these squash plants have just withered and died.

Two weeks. We had that monsoon henri roll through here and a few other storms. Torrential rain and blistering heat.

We’re on day 3 of 95+ rays. It’s wreaking havoc on the gardens.

I’m surprised I held out this long. I have a mew wave of squash going in the other corner so hopeful I get more soon!
