My passion for canning, drying and preserving has lead me to share with more than just our family. I began selling to folks I knew and have been led to provide my delicious goodies to others simply by public demand. I stick steadfast to my tried and true standard recipes, but love to try new flavor combinations that are safe and have been tested for home canning.

Fresh picked grapes from our vines... washed and ready to become jelly and cinnamon grape preserves! Harvest season is delicious!

It's that time of year again! The window is brief, so we got three batches of wild violet jelly done while we could. Let me know if you'd like some! Only available in 4 ounce jars ($3.50), this seasonal treat is floral and sweet, wonderful on homemade biscuits or with cream cheese on a crisp cracker.

When the weather outside is frightful, stay inside and can something delightful! Today I'm putting up ham and bean soup for the family with leftovers and items we had on hand. It will be good to have stored for the long cold days of winter ahead. What are you up to today?

I am very excited to spend some time out at the farm that supplies a great deal of my produce! I will be Zilke Vegetable Farm this Sunday for their season finale Farm Day from 1-4. They are located on Carpenter Road just north of Milan. Come on out to stock up on preserved items for the holiday season and grab your fall decor, squash and other goodies from the farm stand! I hope to see you there!

Come see me tomorrow at Ypsilanti Masonic Temple on Whittaker Road to stock up for the season. They'll have all kinds of vendors, crafts and more at the Women's Expo in conjunction with the Masonic Child ID program. A great day out!

Cherry season is here! I'm thinking Cherry "Under the Influence" Jam, Cherry Vanilla Rhubarb Jam, Cherry stone jelly, homemade maraschino cherries... What ideas do you have? I'd love some suggestions!

I just finished picking violet blossoms for a favorite Spring jelly. The blossoms will steep overnight to make violet tea and get made into jelly after work tomorrow. Here's the blog I wrote a while back with the how-to in it, if you're interested!
