It's the final countdown, only 3 more opportunities to shop with us off the farm. Make sure you have what you need for the winter. As usual, we are open at the farm daily (3082 Midland rd Midland, VA) today at Re*****on farmers market and Saturday we are at our roadside stand in Catlett from 9-1 (3409 Catlett rd ). This week you will enjoy acorn squash, honeynut squash, curly and dinosaur jkale, collards, Asian pears, turnips, beets, green bell peppers, hystyle green beans, kennebuc potatoes, delicata squash, green cabbage, orange carrots, broccoli, golden delicious, suncrisp, winesap and pippin apples, red deuce tomatoes, butternut squash, red sweet potatoes, bibb lettuce and candy onions. We also have gouda, fresh c***r, honey, pumpkins and maple syrup! Make sure you have the best of Virginia.

As usual, we are open at the farm daily (3082 Midland rd Midland, VA) today at Re*****on farmers market and Saturday we are at our roadside stand in Catlett from 9-1 (3409 Catlett rd ). This week you will enjoy red bell peppers, acorn squash, honeynut squash, broccoli, hystyle green beans, Asian pears, yellow squash, turnips, zucchini, kennebuc potatoes, delicata squash, green cabbage, orange carrots, golden delicious, jonagold and pippin apples, red deuce tomatoes, butternut squash, red sweet potatoes, bibb lettuce and candy onions. We also have gouda, fresh c***r, honey, pumpkins and maple syrup! Make sure you have the best of Virginia.

Why should you still go to the farmers markets in October? No, there's not watermelon or sweet corn, but there is plenty of fabulous food to choose. Autumn markets bring comfort foods, butternut and acorn squash...sweet potatoes and edible pumpkins...and apples! These vegetables don't just feed you for the week, they will last several months in your pantry without any preservation work. No snapping like green beans, no peeling like tomatoes, just let them be. These are the foods that are nutrient dense, versatile to prepare and filling. So come to the farmers markets in October, pick out what you want for dinner in January. While you're there, talk to the local bakers about direct ordering through the winter, check out the local crafts for Christmas gifts, and find out where you can still buy eggs and meat in the off season. These vendors are your neighbors...support them.
