The incomparable Kate Smiles makes her season debut at the market this Thursday, and we could not be more excited. The second she starts singing, she absolutely commands the space.

If you’ve heard her cover “Pink Pony Club,” then you already know it’s become something of a market favorite. So… would it be completely out of line to suggest everyone wear a little pink this Thursday to show Kate some love?

Our market has always been pet friendly. (Some weeks the dogs seem even more excited to be there than the people.) In fact, if our friend Claudia is at the market, there’s a decent chance she may even try to convince you to leave with a new best friend! Certainly several of our vendors have--looking at you Sarah and Fancy!

Starting this Thursday, our four-legged patrons have something new to look forward to as Blockhead Barkery joins the market with small-batch baked goods made especially for pets. So when the weather is good, bring the family, bring your appetite, and yes… bring the dog.

As a reminder, all pets are welcome at the market as long as they are friendly, kept on a leash at all times, up-to-date on vaccinations, and under the direct supervision of their human companions throughout their visit.

I want to personally invite everyone out to the market this Thursday from 4 to 7 PM to welcome Bub-B-Que BBQ & Catering Co. for their market debut.

If you’ve never had their barbecue before, just know this: at the end of the night, they often say there’s nothing left “but the dishes.” That's because their barbecue and homemade sides are packed with bold flavor, and the portions are anything but small.

Right now, this is Bub-B-Que’s only scheduled appearance of the season, so I really hope you’ll come out, support them, and enjoy an amazing dinner at the market.

Now that’s how you kick off a market season.

Yesterday’s Opening Day felt like the return of something people had truly been waiting for. The weather couldn’t have been better, the irresistible aroma of ThePitaKing drifted through the air all evening, and Mark Eastman absolutely knocked it out of the park once again with an incredible live performance.
Everywhere you looked, friends were reconnecting after a long winter apart, baskets were overflowing with fresh local goods, and hearts were just as full.

To everyone who came out to celebrate the market’s return: thank you for making Opening Day so special. We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next week... with even more big fun waiting for you.

Today's the day... The Middletown Farmers Market returns for Opening Day today from 4 PM to 7 PM, and after a week of worrying forecasts, Mother Nature seems to be giving us a beautiful spring evening after all! We’re looking at a little sunshine and temperatures in the upper 60s. It's going to be perfect for an afternoon at the market.

You'll want to come hungry because ThePitaKing will be onsite with pita sandwiches and sides. Feel free to bring a blanket or chair to sit and enjoy live music from Music by Mark Eastman while you shop the list of vendors below for our very first market of the 2026 season.

Opening Day means we'll be shaking off the winter cobwebs and setting up for the first time this season, so please do not arrive before we officially open. Happy Spring to all of the other users of the Christ Reformed United Church of Christ Middletown, MD parking lot across from Delauters convenience store.

Farmers Market season is here again so on Wednesday evenings you will see our cones go up. However, please know that we love for you to use the parking lot Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. We just ask that all cars be moved before 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, and that if you move our cones you put them back where we had them.

Each of our Farmers and Artisans gets 11 ft of space which gives them just 6 inches on each side of their 10-foot tent. Things are tight and so we need all of the room inside the cones on Thursdays.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding and here is to an excellent Farmers Market season at the best Farmers Market around!

Some faces at the market just kind of become part of the place. For better or worse, I guess I’m one of them. If you’ve been around a while, you probably know me as that barefoot guy at Spruce Run Farm… and yes, even after a recent hip replacement, that part hasn’t changed. Kenny’s the tall one with the beard and a million farming stories. Together we’ve been holding down our little corner of the market for years.

What you might not always see is that I’m also the market manager, and Kenny is right there with me helping keep everything running smoothly. So on any given market day, we’re pulling double duty. We're working behind the scenes and bringing fresh-from-the-field produce (and honey) straight to you.

Opening Day is always something special, and we're excited to be kicking things off with a great early-season lineup. We’ll have beautiful leafy greens, fresh asparagus, a limited amount of strawberries, and the first cuttings of rhubarb.

Someone always shows up looking for them, so let me just put this out there...
sweet corn and watermelons are on the way. As always, we’re aiming for right around the Fourth of July, but this week is all about those first fresh veggies of the season.

Stop by, say hello, and help us get the season started right. I’ll be the one without shoes.

All of that matters--it really does, but let’s be honest about the moment that actually sticks with you…
It’s not “wow, that was responsibly sourced.”
It’s “wow… that tasted ridiculously good.”

That’s the experience you have when you crack open a sack of nuts from The Nutty Smoker.

Slow-smoked or roasted to perfection, these assorted nuts are coated in rich flavor. These are a snack you buy “for later” and then somehow the bag is empty before you leave the market.

So yes, you can feel good about supporting a small-batch maker.
Yes, they check all the boxes... local, crafted, thoughtful, but the most important thing?

They’re flat-out delicious.
