CREATING A SONG IS EXACTLY LIKE MAKING CACAO 🤎
I used to think you just go into a studio, record your song, and the track is finished but what I’m realizing today is that… it’s not even close to that.
I’m learning through creating “Mueve La Cadera”the first of 7 Cacao Sol songs is that making music is a long process just like making cacao.
First, inspiration comes through (This song came to us almost 2 years ago with just a rythm, and the words “Mueve la Cadera”.
Then we brought it our friends. Our brothers and sisters to help add in their voices, their unique flavor, and love to the track.
And then… the work continues through repetition, patience, steady refinement.
Our brother is in post production right now, doing what he does best… tuning, taking away as well as adding every little detail like we do when we’re preparing our ceremonial cacao.
And even though it’s taking way longer than I thought it would.
The lesson this process is teaching me is the same the cacao has taught me through out the years… Patience, trust , and allowing things to come in when they’re meant to be instead of rushing them.
Because just like the best cacao is never rushed. Neither is something like this music we’re recording from our heart.
So we’re in here.
Enjoying the process.
Letting it cook and marinate like we do with our cacao.
And what’s coming is going to be one of the most fun, uplifting songs about cacao the world has ever heard 💃🕺
And most likely the first of its kind.
It’s safe to say that we’re grateful for this moment. Grateful for the process.
Grateful for every single one of you walking with us as we bring this vision to life.
This is more than music to us.
It represents family, our culture, a definite moment in time, and a legacy that will outlive all of us.
This is our cacao in another form.
