Happy pigs enjoying their daily squash. They delight in rolling around in the wheat straw as I add it to their enclosure. The pigs are a source of tranquility and peace of mind in my life. Additionally, they are relatively low-maintenance, as they do not require chasing if they escape from their pen, unlike the cows.

We currently have half a pig available for sale in January and another beef will be ready for purchase in February. Our pricing remains competitive, with pork priced at $6.00 per pound of actual take-home weight and beef at $7.00 per pound.

This Saturday, May 31, from 10 AM to PM, we'll have a limited quantity of fresh strawberries available at Walnut Hill Farm, along with all the other delicious produce we're harvesting early this season.

Despite recent challenges, including my brother David's health scare, we're staying positive and focused on the future. We're grateful for his recovery and aware that he'll need time to heal. As we navigate the ups and downs of farming, we're excited to continue growing and adapting.

We still have plenty of work ahead, from planting to harvesting hay, and we welcome any support from our loyal customers who believe in us. Your help and encouragement mean the world as we strive to make this season a success. We're looking forward to seeing you at the markets and appreciating your understanding as we make adjustments to ensure the long-term sustainability of our farm.

Lengel Brothers Farm and Market is thrilled to return to Walnut Hill Farm tomorrow, May 24th from 10 AM to 2 PM, with a vibrant array of fresh produce, including lettuce, kale, arugula, dandelion, spinach, cabbage, green onions, green garlic, asparagus, rhurbarb, spaghetti squash, and microgreens. Our shelves are also stocked with delicious jams, pickled vegetables, quarts of peaches, honey, popcorn, and a variety of apples.

As we eagerly await the arrival of our figs, we're filled with hope and anticipation for a bountiful harvest.

What a gorgeous Spring day and it couldn't come any quicker with the celebration of Earth Day Week! We are set up at Walnut Hill Farm today till 6:00 PM and again on this coming Saturday April 26th from 10 AM to 2 PM.

We are looking forward to a busy spring with improvements at the farm with growing growing technology with the vegetables, irrigation systems, tree planting and with our pastured beef and soon hogs. With food cost rising and the uncertainties of today's world we are a proven grower with a long history of farming under our belts. I only ask that you believe in us and we will return to you healthy grown meats and vegetables to make your day a little more brighter. Come and join us as our cornucopia fills and our hard work pays off with a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture Cooperative) that is a treat to get each week of the season right up to Thanksgiving.

We had an amazing pop up market at Walnut Hill Farm yesterday, filled with wonderful customers who truly appreciate local, fresh products from the farmers they trust. We're thrilled to be collaborating even more in 2025, bringing people together to provide farm-to-table meals in a one-stop shopping experience, even in the winter months if the weather permits, and more so as spring through fall arrive.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our gracious hosts, Mike, Karen, and their family, for welcoming us to their beautiful farm. It was incredible to hear such positive feedback from customers who loved this initiative of working together to provide fresh, wholesome food. I was able to pick up some delicious turkey legs and chicken livers, which inspired a mouth-watering breakfast this morning - bacon cooked with chicken livers, red onion, and avocado, accompanied by eggs and sourdough Irish whiskey biscuits.

We have a half of hog available for pickup before Christmas to make your New Year's Eve and the start of 2025 a good year for fresh wholesome farm to table meals.

We also have a half of beef available in January to fill your freezer with pasture fed goodness.

Both pork or beef are $6.00 a pound of actual weight of meat you take home.

Don't forget to start signing up for our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture Cooperative) to take advantage of the price before an increase in February. Hogs and Beef prices are being looked at for an increase by Spring due to the rising cost of processing.
