We recently switched to Verizon due to Pioneer discontinuing its cell service. It works great in the city with our point of sale system, GPS and making calls but where we live and truly need it, it is dead in the water. We can hardly send a text and we are constantly getting our calls dropped. Voicemails show up about 2-3 days later. We also have no service between Medicine Lodge and Harper when we are on the road to Wichita. Just like everyone else in the area, we need this service here in the Gyp Hills where we live and operate and we need for it to work.
The following came in an email to me from a trusted source this morning: Recently the Aetna cell phone tower was turned off, seriously limiting cell phone service in SW Barber county.
Supposedly the tower is only off until it is upgraded to faster service. If this is the case great but if you are a Verizon customer and would like to help ensure that you have phone coverage, please call *611 on your cell phone and let them know how important this tower is.
Also, if you know someone who works out in this area and is dependent on this tower for coverage, please pass the word so they can call too.
The FCC ID number for the Aetna tower is 1281143.
We have heard that other towers have also been turned off. If so and you would like to call about them, their ID # is on a sign at that particular tower.
We plan to call! Thank you!
