The market provides the community with locally raised foods as market goers help preserve the tradition of small farms in the area. Customers make a direct connection with the source of their food and get to know the person or farm family who grows it. During our regular season market, enjoy cooking demonstrations by top local chefs and relaxing live music. And, our special events schedule is always full of family-friendly activities and fun contests.

🍐 ASIAN PEARS ARE HERE (WE HOPE)! 🍐

We missed them last week, but we’ve got it on good authority that Asian pears will be at the market this Saturday! 🤞🍐

Plus, we’re bringing all the fall goodness: leafy greens, sweet potatoes, fresh sourdough, cinnamon buns, cozy pot pies, local meats, farm-fresh eggs, fall plants, and SO much more. Add a cup of hot c***r, live music, on-site knife sharpening, and a food truck, and Saturday morning is looking pretty delicious. 🍂

🌦️ Rain in the forecast? Maybe! We’re keeping our fingers crossed for sunshine, but we’re open rain or shine. And honestly, is there anything more romantic than a drizzly Saturday morning at the farmers market, with a baguette and a bouquet poking out of your tote bag? 🥖💐 Grab your raincoat and come make a morning of it!

This Saturday, we’re welcoming back our friend Chef Sam Diminich of Grey’s Diner and Restaurant Constance for a morning of good food, local ingredients, and a little kitchen inspiration!

Sam is a longtime champion of our farmers market and the farmers, makers, and small businesses who make our local food community so special. He knows that the best cooking starts with great ingredients, and lucky for us, he knows exactly where to find them. 😉🌽🍎🥕

One of those little signs that fall is really happening: fresh North Carolina persimmons are making their way to the market this Saturday! If you’ve been waiting for them, this is your week. If you’ve never tried one, come see what all the fuss is about. 😍

🌿 PAWPAWS ARE HERE! If you know, you know. If you don’t…this is your chance to try one of North Carolina’s most unusual native fruits. They have a short season, so don’t wait!

🍎🥂 Lightly carbonated canned c***r! Crisp, refreshing and just a little bubbly. It’s the newest way to enjoy local apple season, and we’re pretty excited about it.

Plus, there are plenty of apples, c***r, fall produce, local meats, baked goods, prepared foods and all the other good stuff you expect to find at your local farmers market.

🍎 APPLE SEASON HAS ARRIVED! 🍎

Peaches may be officially done for the year, but we’re rolling right into fall with the start of our Apple Fundraiser this Saturday!

This week’s lineup includes Golden Delicious, Crimson Crisp & Granny Smith apples, plus fresh-pressed apple c***r. 🍏

And NEW this year: lightly carbonated canned apple c***r! Crisp, refreshing, lightly bubbly and VERY easy to drink. We have a feeling this one is going to disappear quickly. 😏🍎

And remember, when you buy fruit at our fundraiser booth, you’re helping support the market, keeping vendor fees affordable and making programs like chef demos, tomato tasting and our corn roast possible. So really, eating apples is community service. 😂
