As many chicken stories go, it started out as a few chickens for our girls as a hobby and to supply our family. They quickly gained an addiction to their chickens, especially hatching baby chicks, and what started with four chickens has grown to a larger flock since March 2020. The over abundance of eggs encouraged them to recoup the costs of feeding their flock and start their business selling and sharing their taste for fresh eggs.
Next Fresh Egg is ran by our three girls-they all take care of the day to day of caring for the chickens and the coop and collecting and prepping the eggs to sell.
Our chickens, and therefore our eggs are “mostly” organic. They are fed organic feed and scratch grains. They do get treats and fruit and vegetable scraps (mostly organic) and sometimes free range for bugs and seeds on our property (depending on how high the predator risk is).
