VENDOR FEATURE: Observatory Hill Farm
“We are Cindy and Mark Mackenzie, the shepherds of Observatory Hill Farm. We may own the land, but we are managed and supervised by our sheep, who determine in almost every way how we spend our time on the farm. We are located in the gently rolling hills of southern Wisconsin. Our pastures lay in the shelter of a steep hill that was once known as the location of a homemade astronomical observatory, a telescope placed in an old grain silo.
We sell raw wool fleeces from our naturally colored and white Corriedale sheep. We select our sheep for wool with exceptionally soft handle, in almost all cases suitable for next-to-the-skin wear. We also sell pasture-raised, frozen lamb meat for while we would like to keep every lamb that is born on the farm, unfortunately our flock can only grow so big. The sheep which cannot be kept each year are harvested humanely for lean, healthy, grass-fed lamb meat. Visit our stall on Sundays or visit our website to learn more.”
