When it rains it pours!! ☔️ We have gotten so much rain this week in southern Indiana. We’re measuring almost 4.5 inches in the last 7 days, and that’s not including today! While the rain is great for sizing up our peaches and cherries, it can make the remainder of strawberry and asparagus season unpredictable!

All that to say… 🌟Get your strawberries and asparagus while you can!!🌟 We’ll be stocked up tomorrow at the to set you up for the long weekend! 8am - 11:30am. Come see us!! 🍓🍓

Today is our 2026 debut! We have asparagus, strawberries, and peach wood this week. Our booth is located right along the Monon Trail. Come see us and help kick off the season! 🎉

May 1st, 2026 Orchard Update 📢‼️

We received much needed rain this week at the orchard, 2.5” in about 4 hours. We had the warmest April on record! With the high temps, the asparagus patch is in its last week of production. Our lbs of both green and purple asparagus have come down significantly.

There is good news however, IT’S STRAWBERRY SEASON!! 🍓😍The first two quarts were picked today. We will have more quarts in about a week, so be patient!

With the rain we had this week, we finished planting the 1/4 acre garden with watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, tomatoes, bell peppers, green beans, onions, jalapeños, summer squash, zucchini, and cherry tomatoes. The pie pumpkins and jack-o’-lanterns will be planted in 3 weeks or so! 🎃

Peaches are off to a great start! 🎉 They are the size of ping pong balls now. We hope it will be another great season for peaches from the looks of it! Mother Nature has the final say so! 🙏🏻

Should be a bumper crop in tart cherries this year! Get out your best cherry pie recipes! 🍒🥧 Sweet cherries didn’t fare so well. The cold temps in March froze most of the blossoms 👎🏼🥲 You can’t have it all in farming I’m learning!

Winter at the orchard is definitely quieter, but we’ve been taking advantage of every warm day these past few months to get ready for spring 🌱

We’ve tuned up the equipment, laid straw for the strawberries, and have spent time weeding and pruning around the peach & cherry trees. Indiana spring weather can be unpredictable, but the trees have been giving us good signs 🌸

Send good vibes for continued mild temps in the coming weeks☀️ We’re looking forward to harvest season being in full swing soon! 🍓🍒🍑

As the weather warms up, grilling season is upon us! I have freshly cut peach wood available for sale for $7/bag. Great for grilling/smoking pork chops, chicken, and salmon. Let me know if interested! While supplies last! 🍑

More fall happenings at Indiana Peach MD☀️🍂 Did you know that peach trees need painted? 🎨🤔 We have been using these warmer temps to apply a coat of white paint to each tree trunk. White paint is used on peach tree trunks primarily to protect them from sunscald, which is damage caused by temperature fluctuations. The white color reflects sunlight, preventing the trunk from overheating and cracking during the day, which can be followed by freezing temperatures at night. The white paint can also be used to identify and protect against insects. Hoping our paint job helps produce a healthy 2026 crop! 🍑
