Portuguese Quick-Infused Octopus 🐙🇵🇹
Skip the hours of prep and get straight to the flavor! We’re using our El Rey Del Pulpo XL Pre-Cooked Tentacles and authentic Portuguese Chouriço for a restaurant-quality meal that’s ready in a fraction of the time.
The secret? A quick Sous Vide “infusion” that drives the smoky chouriço oils deep into the octopus before a hot sear.
INGREDIENTS:
✅ 1 pack El Rey Del Pulpo Pre-Cooked Octopus (XL)
✅ 1/2 lb Portuguese Chouriço (sliced thick)
✅ 1 tsp Smoked Paprika (Pimentão Doce)
✅ 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
✅ 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
✅ Fresh Parsley & Sea Salt
✅ Lemon Wedges
DIRECTIONS:
1️⃣ INFUSE: Set Sous Vide to 140°F (60°C). Bag the thawed tentacles with chouriço, paprika, garlic powder, and olive oil. Submerge for 45 minutes to lock in the flavors.
2️⃣ DRY: Remove from the bag and pat the octopus extremely dry with paper towels. (This is the secret to a perfect crust!)
3️⃣ CHAR: Heat a cast-iron skillet or grill to high heat. Sear the tentacles for just 60-90 seconds per side until crispy and charred.
4️⃣ SERVE: Plate the octopus and chouriço together. Drizzle with the flavorful oils from the bag, a squeeze of lemon, and fresh parsley.
