We’ve been a little quiet lately… mostly because the chickens refuse to do their own social media. Rude.

Good news though — our girls (and their very confident roosters) are living their best lives and have been pumping out beautiful, delicious eggs all winter long with zero drop in production. Overachievers.

🇺🇸🐓 Chicken of the Week 🐓🇺🇸

You’ve already met our patriotic band of misfits, but this week’s star is their fearless red, white, and blue leader… Merica’!

As you can see, this hen rules the flock with confidence. Between laying eggs that taste like a true melting pot of everything we love about this country, she spends her free time judging mullet contests among the other chickens.

Alongside her sisters, Freedom and Glory, Merica’ makes up our own little red, white, and blue trio. She’s often spotted running around the Acres looking like she’s fresh from one too many cookouts.

And if you’re wondering how to recognize her—just look for the fluffiest hen in the yard (though she prefers to call herself “healthy” 😉).

🐓 Chicken of the Week – Thrice 🐓

Most of our chickens of the week are beautiful, fluffy hens… and while Thrice would be a glorious frizzle hen, she’s had a feather-picking habit from the very beginning.

Her name? Well, we’ve told her not once, not twice, but thrice to stop messing with her feathers. But does she listen? Nooope. Instead, she’s rocking what we like to call the “2008 Britney” look.

Despite her constant “DIY hairstyling,” Thrice is as sweet as they come. We’re holding out hope that once her teenage phase passes, she’ll retire the dramatic makeovers and just let those beautiful frizzle feathers fly free.

Dinner time? Junior’s on it. Our resident noodle inspector and beloved farm favorite never misses his chance to peek.👀 🐓

🐾 Farm Shenanigans at Baker’s Acres 🐓

Our loyal farm dog is absolutely thrilled—she thinks Junior Junior (our spirited rooster) has finally decided to play with her! Every time he squares up and throws a little rooster attitude, she thinks it’s a game of chicken-wrestling.

She’s overjoyed that someone on the farm wants to play rough and tumble—little does she know, Junior Junior has very different ideas. 😂

Meet JoJo — one of the OGs from our very first batch of chickens! Over the years, she’s taken on the role of mother hen to so many of our babies, always keeping a watchful eye and making sure everyone stays in line.

She’s got the heart (and sass) of an old Southern mama — firm when needed, but never turns down a good snuggle or a tasty snack. We love our JoJo and all the wisdom she brings to the flock. 💛

🐔 Chicken of the Week 🐔

We have a few resident hens here at the farm that hold a special place in our hearts. These three ladies joined us on the 4th of July last year, and their names are a perfect tribute to that patriotic day.

Without further ado, meet Glory — our passionate American hen with feathers as blue as her spirit is bold! She’s the only “blue” chicken on the farm and as sweet as they come. Glory struts with pride, showing off her love for this great country in every step (don’t tell the bald eagle, but she might just outshine it in farmyard patriotism 🦅💙).

If you listen closely, you might even catch her clucking out a proud “’Merica!” She’s beauty, she’s grace… and she struts Glory all over the place.
