Get your lettuce before it gets too hot! They are prime for the pickin. Bibb and purple fusion. Great for sandwiches or in a salad.

This how we limeade. After we bottle up our honey, we can’t leave the dregs so we make limeade by mixing a little warm water with the remaining honey, dehydrated lime (or fresh), top with cold water and optional mint or lemon balm! Delicious, refreshing and a healthy alternative.

Today’s project: planting buckwheat between our blueberries! 🫐
Why? Because the grass that was originally there adds no value to the soil , rather, it takes nutrients away. Buckwheat is a perfect companion to blueberries and will germinate in 3-4 days. By 3-4 weeks, it will be flowering. The pollinators go absolute nuts for the nectar and it will add a very nice flavor to our honey. That’s not it! After the flowers are spent, it will be mulched down and put back into the soil and we will plant another round. Buckwheat is one of the cover crops that we use since it’s easy, and thrives in horrible conditions and acidic soils. It’s a set it and forget it crop!

Did you know? Dill is a host plant for swallowtail butterflies? If you bought some of our plants, you may have gotten a bonus dill plant tagging along. If you have no use for dill, plant it for the butterflies 🦋 ❤️. Otherwise, make sure you plant enough to share.
