Tomorrow we send steers to butcher! Our freezers will be stocked back up with all your favorite cuts again soon!

Ever wonder how we decide which cattle become beef that goes to your freezer!?

When we are selecting cattle for you, we hand pick the best looking cattle from our pens. We look at the animal as a whole and use our experience raising cattle to choose the ones we believe will provide you with the best eating experience.

The cattle that we don’t personally butcher are sent to National Beef. There, each individual carcass is graded and given a quality grade and a yield grade.

When we select an animal for your freezer beef, we obviously can’t see exactly what the inside will look like yet. But after years of raising and finishing cattle, we have a pretty good idea of what that animal will produce.

That’s one of the things we love about raising our own beef from the time they are born until they go to butcher, we know these cattle. We know how they were raised and what they were fed. We know their mom and dad, even generations before them! We take pride in choosing the very best ones for you!
