Tough day on my mental health today.

With everything I’ve been working through with my eating disorder, my mind has already been carrying a lot. Having all the negativity and comments added on top of that & made today 20x harder 😆.

I work so hard. I truly do. I put so much of myself into this business, my family, and making sure everyone who walks through our doors feels welcome. I love what I do, and I love getting to share our store with Nebraska. But I’m human, too, and some days the negativity gets to you more than others.

The bright side of today? We sold all 40 burek! We also got to meet some new faces, welcome new customers, and show people around our store. Those are the moments that remind me why I do this. I love showing everyone the deli meats and cheeses too!

I don’t want one difficult day or a comment section to take away from something my family and I have worked so hard to build.

Thank you, Nebraska, for continuing to support us, encourage us, and show us love. It means more than you know.

There’s a side of my life that most people who know me from European Grocery & Deli have never seen.

Our family business in Lincoln, Nebraska, became so much more than a place to work. It gave me purpose, motivation, and something to put my heart into while navigating some of the hardest chapters of my life.

Thankful to be able to show everyone the amazing foods and snacks and groceries we have from 10+ countries in store! My favorite part of the store is our deli! 🧀

Nebraska, thank you for all the support. Seriously, I appreciate every single one of you.

To everyone who told me not to address the comments, you were absolutely right. But when someone starts making things up and putting things on your name that aren’t true, it’s hard to just sit back, read it, and say nothing.

I’m not looking for drama or arguments. I’m just standing up for myself and telling my side.

I appreciate you all more than you know. My mom and I are going to keep doing what we love and working hard for our little family business. Thank you, Nebraska!

Hey guys, I guess they want to try their burek somewhere else, and apparently I’m “manufacturing drama” now. 😂

All jokes aside, nobody is tearing anyone down. Runza is Runza and it’s good. Burek is Burek and it’s good. There’s room for both!

We’ll keep doing what we do best: serving Lincoln, supporting our family business, and making sure there’s plenty of burek for Nebraska to enjoy.

Thank you Mariah Gosch Bishop for understanding that I never put Runza down. Your message means so much to me.

Dang, someone’s mad! 😂

I didn’t do anything wrong here! Runza is a multi-million-dollar business, and all I did was make a little joke after spotting someone’s Runza bag in the garbage outside our store and saying our food is the godfather of the runza… because it is 😂 Börek/ Burek came a long time ago before the Runza.

I called our food the the Godfather of the Runza and said you could’ve stopped right here instead. That’s it! Just a little marketing strategy. 😂

Listen, if you like Runza, you might love burek! They’re two different foods, and both can be good. I’m not taking anything away from anybody.

Sometimes you have to have a little fun with marketing and get people talking!

We have burek in store today but it’s selling fast!

We hope to see you today! We’re getting ready to open, and there’s plenty waiting for you inside!

Fresh burek will be available, along with our delicious fruit-shaped desserts that are perfect for the Halloween season. The kids love them, and we know plenty of adults do too!

Our smoked meats have also been selling fast, and I’m so thankful to see so many of you making them your new favorites. Our European-style smoked meats are truly delicious!

And of course, don’t forget about our deli! It’s honestly my favorite part of the store. We have cheeses from different countries, smoked meats, sausages, spreads, and so much more. If you need recommendations, just ask me!

I love giving everyone a tour of the store and showing you all the different products we carry. Saturdays can sometimes get a little busy, so I might not always have as much time for a full tour, but I’m always happy to help however I can.
