It’s October, and you know what that means - delicious soups, slow roasted meats, winter squash, and apple desserts. It also brings earlier sunsets, so starting this week, the market will be CLOSING AT 6 PM due to waning light. Stop by between 2-6 pm to get all your local goodness!

We are happy to be back this week with our full complement of farmers, vendors, artisans, community groups, and live music, following last week’s relocation under the solar canopy due to soggy field conditions from the Nor’easter. Thanks to the 500+ customers who showed up last week in support of local farms and food. We love our hearty shoppers!

You’ll find the rescheduled NATIVE PLANT SALE at Fletcher Park on Tuesday in partnership with Lexington Conservation Committee. Stop by the market to find native and pollinator plants grown in Lexington's native plant nursery, potted up and ready to add to your garden. Fall is the perfect time to plant, so check out the attached flyer for a list of what you'll find at the market.

LATE BREAKING NEWS: It’s been a soggy three days, but never fear: we are a rain-heat-shine market, meaning the LFM is on tomorrow, Tuesday, September 29 from 2-6:30 pm. We’ll be moving the market under the solar canopy at the request of the Lexington DPW, which means that while it will be a smaller footprint, you’ll still find all you need from breakfast to dinner and everything in between! Sadly, due to the unrelenting Nor’easter and limited space, Sustainability Day is cancelled at Tuesday’s market.

All LFM weekly vendors will be in attendance with five produce farmers, meat, fish, bakeries and even hot coffee with the full list below. In addition, the EverTech recycling truck will be there; check out their flyer below to see what you can safely dispose of.

NOTABLE NOTES
The EVER TECH RECYCLING truck will be parked at the front of the police parking lot, adjacent to the handicapped parking spots. Adjacent spots will be reserved for people to drop off their waste to be recycled - please do not park in these spots during the market.

Stop by the Market Manager’s tent for the fall edition of EDIBLE BOSTON, with great recipe and a feature on market favorite Sueños Chocolates

Guest vendors returning this week are WICKED BESS with all your fall cocktail and mocktail needs, and JOY OF TREATS bringing delicious Indian sweets!

Everyone’s favorite musicians, the LIBERTY BONES, are back this week from 4:30-6 pm. Bring the kids to enjoy this all-trombone band!

Mark it on your calendar: next week (Tuesday, September 29) is the LFM’s annual SUSTAINABILITY DAY, held with the Town of Lexington Office of Sustainability and Resilience and LexCAN. In addition to the regular vendors, there will be representatives from a host of organizations sharing resources on how to adopt sustainable practices. Groups include Lexington Conservation (plant sale too!), the Lexington Zero Waste Collaborative, Lexington Living Landscapes, Black Earth Compost, Tree Committee, MassEnergize Climate Games, and Town Transportation Services. There will also be an opportunity to recycle electronic goods with EverTech Electronic Recycling. Keep an eye for more information later this week, and get excited to get green!

Happy September and the start of the school year! We’re zooming into the new month with great market options, the return of market regulars, and all the best from our farms. It's also primary day, which may make parking more challenging over by Cary Hall. Vote, and then head to the market in support of local and healthy!

This week, the market layout will be slightly modified as we try to avoid spots where there are drainage issues; be sure to check the map available near the Market Manager's tent to find just who you're looking for. With a bit of rain in the forecast, it's a good idea to wear rain boots or sturdy shoes; we love to see fancy footwear! Nothing stops the market, so let's get right to it - read on for all the news.

CAPTAIN MARDEN’s SEAFOOD will not be at the market today due to staffing issues. They plan to be back next week.

It's a welcome return to market favorite SUEÑOS CHOCOLATES, bringing small batch vegan dark chocolates exclusively made with single origin heirloom ‘Nacional’ cacao, imported directly from independent organic farmers in Northwestern Ecuador. The chocolates are both beautiful and delicious, and a delicious treat!

OLIVE WORLD is back after a summer break with Moroccan specialties for your table!

VENIER FORGE returns to sharpen your knives, garden tools, and anything else with an edge. Drop them off when you arrive and Matt will have them tuned up while you shop!

If you’re peckish at the market, we’ve got ready to eat options for you: FIVE ELEMENTS is bringing delicious bao buns, steamed with a choice of fillings, and CRÊPE DU JOUR has savory and sweet selections for a French taste treat!
