Whether you're new here or you've been coming for weeks, here's the story of who we are. 🤍
The White Dog is a farm stand and mercantile. It started with a simple dream: I wanted to share a little piece of our life and our farm with this community that I love so much. I wanted to offer farm-fresh goods, delicious baked goodies (food is love 😅), all while giving people the chance to meet some very special farm animals along the way!
The name came easily. This stand is named after our livestock guardian dogs, because without them we wouldn't even be able to have this farm. They are the heart and soul of this entire operation, and they are my world.
What began as "I'm just going to sell some farm fresh eggs, goat milk products, wool products, and baked goods" has turned into this incredible journey that I still can't put into words.
And this journey is one that you’re all going on with me as I grow, make mistakes (oh gosh, so many 😆), and celebrate the wins - no matter how small! And I’m so lucky to have your support and love through it all!
This little stand is growing and evolving into my heart and my passion. It’s so much of me in this little space, in every nook and cranny.
I love to bake and I love to feed people. I truly believe food brings people together and every Saturday I feel more connected than ever to my grandmother, who’s recipes I recreate for y’all on Sundays.
I love to educate and teach people about farming and about our farm animals (and hopefully make a few of you laugh when I share fun facts and stories about each one, I love to make people laugh!).
I love to grow food and create things with my hands from our farm. From our seasonal produce, to goat milk soaps, lotions, and hair & skincare, to wool dryer balls and hats & mittens, to the beef tallow and our incredible honey.
I love to bring people together, to create a destination. A place young children and the young at heart look forward to coming each Sunday. I want it to feel like you’re going to a friend’s place where it feels more like family.
I also love supporting other women. So, while you’ll find many items I grow and make, everything else you find at our stand is crafted by other female ranchers, farmers, makers, artists, and chefs.
From the candles to the salsas, the coffees to the jams, the mugs to the decor, the clothing to the purses, the jewelry to the stickers, the hides to the kids crafts & toys - and everything in between - all made by women. Most local, some friends, all incredible.
My hopes for The White Dog:
I hope this little dream of mine continues to grow. Not in space nor in sales, but in love and in community.
I hope it inspires others to follow their own dreams, to take a risk (even if scary!), and never look back.
I hope people think of The White Dog when you need a gift. Christmas, birthday, hostess, a just-because for your best friend, or a little something for yourself. I want us to be your first thought.
When you shop here, you're shopping local and supporting small, but you're also supporting other women's dreams, and that matters so much to me.
I've worked hard to pick out items I'm excited to share (y’all just wait until that grain bin is finished!!), and I love nothing more than helping you find the perfect something for the special people in your life. Including you!
Most of all, I hope you are excited to come, Sunday after Sunday. To see what’s new, to stock up on my famous banana bread (which is practically no calories by the way - it’s so many bananas it’s basically a fruit salad 😆), to pet and love on the animals.
