From creating posts and graphics to sharing vendor spotlights, event updates, and market reminders, Kayla helps keep the community informed and excited about all things Market on Market.

When she's not working behind the scenes promoting the market, she's helping plan and organize Market on Market that brings together local vendors, businesses, families, and community members on North Market Street.

I was born and raised in Spirit Lake and after graduating college, I got a job as a teacher at Harris-Lake Park Elementary! I just wrapped up my 10th year of teaching at H-LP!

I currently reside in Lake Park with my husband, Jacob, 3 year old son, Maverick, and our Mini Aussie Doodle, Luna! We have lived here for about 6 years now and we love the small town living and all of the things we are able to go out and do as a family! You can almost always find us walking or riding bikes on our beautiful trail in town!

Helping with Market on Market is something that I am very passionate about! My favorite thing is seeing all of the families, friends, and animals that come and join us for shopping and good times!

Meet April Junge! 👋

April had a vision of creating an event that would bring people together, support local businesses and vendors, and showcase everything that makes Lake Park such a wonderful community. What started as an idea has grown into a thriving event that welcomes visitors from near and far to North Market Street throughout the summer.

Hello, all! I am April Junge, but most of you will know me as April Zinn. I am proud to call Lake Park my hometown even though I was a Sioux Valley kid growing up. I live here in Lake Park with my husband, Heath and 4 boys: Oakley, Huntley, Finley, and Korley.

Heath and I both run our own small businesses right here in Lake Park. Heath owns and operates H. Junge Construction and as many of you know, I own and operate Hometown Florals!

We love to be outside, go to our kids sporting events, cheer on the Wolves, and be involved in our community!
Throughout the last couple of years, I have had the chance to chat with a lot of community members who stop by the floral shop and I ask them "What would you like to see in our community?" There has always been a large response for a visible farmer's market so I took that idea and turned it into a goal that has now turned into Market on Market. I enjoy all of the conversations I have with community members to get opinions on what they would like to see for our town. Feel free to stop by my store anytime and share your ideas with me!

We have a LOT of new followers, so we thought we'd take a moment to reintroduce the Lake Park Market on Market team.

Behind our Lake Park Market on Market event is April Junge and Kayla Shaw, dedicated volunteers who spend countless hours planning, organizing, promoting, coordinating vendors, working with businesses, and making sure each market night is a success.

From vendor applications and event logistics to social media updates and day-of setup, there's a lot that happens behind the scenes to bring Market on Market to life—and we couldn't do it without a team that is passionate about our community and helping Lake Park thrive.

Our goal is simple: create a fun, welcoming, family-friendly event that brings people together, supports local businesses, showcases talented vendors, and highlights everything that makes Lake Park such a great place to live and visit.

If you see us at the market, be sure to stop and say hello! We love meeting community members, hearing your feedback, and seeing families and friends enjoying all that Market on Market has to offer.

There is NO Lake Park Market on Market today, Thursday, June 11.

🗓️Our next Market on Market will be Thursday, June 18 from 5:00–7:00 PM on North Market Street in Lake Park!

⚠️ Please note: The 200 Block North Market Street will NOT be blocked off for the June 18 Market on Market. Because of this, the market layout will look different than Opening Night. We encourage everyone to plan accordingly and be mindful of traffic as you enjoy the market.

We can't wait to see you back on June 18 for another great evening of shopping, food, entertainment, and community fun!

Who says Market on Market is just for people? These four-legged friends were all smiles as they joined their humans for Opening Night of Lake Park Market on Market! 🐶❤️

From strolling down Market Street and meeting new friends to soaking up all the sights, sounds, and smells of the market, our furry visitors definitely seemed to enjoy themselves!

We love seeing families, friends, and pets come together to enjoy everything Market on Market has to offer. So next time you head to the market, don't forget to bring your well-behaved, leash-friendly pup along for the adventure!
