🌱 THE OKRA BOSS
As another okra season winds down in South Louisiana, I want to pull a special story out of the Fightingville Fresh archives.
Last year, I spent time in the field with Kevin Ardoin of Zydeco Farms, photographing him surrounded by the crop he loves so deeply.
For Kevin, okra is a direct line to his childhood, his grandfather's garden, and a living piece of Louisiana's agricultural heritage.
What moved me most was hearing him speak about it. He talks about okra's resilience, its beauty, and the peace he finds working the land. I quickly realized that his connection to the land runs deeper than just farming.
I took these photos to honor his calling. The deep connection between Kevin, the soil, and the generations who came before him.
As a photographer and visual storyteller, I live for these moments, and stories like Kevin's never expire.
Okra is Kevin's legacy, his calling, and the future he's actively growing. 🌱
