Important Update from Nixon’s Deli 🥖

Over the past several months we’ve dealt with quality issues from our longtime local bread supplier. Our #1 priority has always been delivering the outstanding steamed hoagies you expect and deserve.

After six-plus months of searching for the very best solution—including meetings with multiple top-tier bakeries and even exploring opening our own bakery—we’ve made the difficult decision to end our partnership with the local supplier.

We’re currently in a short transition period, which means we cannot offer pumpernickel buns right now. Our white and wheat hoagies are available, and we genuinely believe the temporary buns are a noticeable upgrade in taste and texture.

We’re incredibly excited to announce our new partnership with a national bakery that will be baking premium pumpernickel, whole wheat, and white hoagie buns exclusively for Nixon’s Deli moving forward!

A slight delay has pushed the first delivery back, but we’re expecting the new buns to arrive Friday, March 6, 2026. Until then we’ll continue serving our current (and improved!) white and wheat options.

We know this isn’t ideal for our pumpernickel fans, and we didn’t make this change lightly. After 55 years in business, delivering the highest quality product possible will always come first.

Thank you for your continued love, support, and patronage — you really are the best customers anywhere. With these new buns on the way, we can’t wait to serve you for the next 55 years!

Knoxville’s steamed hoagies are a treasure, and we will never take that for granted.
